Introduction
Clitoral shrinking, also known as clitoral atrophy, is a common symptom experienced during menopause due to hormonal changes. The decline in oestrogen and testosterone levels can lead to a reduction in blood flow and tissue volume, causing the clitoral tissue to become smaller and less sensitive. Oestrogen helps maintain the health and function of the genital area, and as levels decrease, the tissues may become thinner, drier, and less elastic. Age-related changes, such as decreased collagen and reduced muscle tone in the pelvic area, can also contribute to these changes.
