Lesley Dobson

Lesley Dobson established Health in Harmony in 2000.
Having been a Registered Nurse and Registered Sick Children’s Nurse since the 1980’s, Lesley has long been interested in ways to care for ourselves, having been witness to the effects of Lifestyle on long-term illness. 
Whilst living and working in Australia, Lesley was involved in a serious car accident and sustained a neck injury that resulted in physical limitations and long-term pain. Despite lots of medical input, Lesley continued with pain and developed side effects from the medication she was prescribed. This was impacting her ability to work in her career as a Neonatal Intensive Care Nurse, and was having an impact in her role as a new mother. 
At this time, Lesley also developed Post-Natal Depression.  Unable to take medication for this, she began looking more seriously into the use of Aromatherapy for her symptoms.  She found some relief by using Essential Oils, and began to explore their uses for different issues, including treatment for her son’s eczema. 
She also began attending a yoga class at this time, and found this very helpful in reducing her pain, increased her mobility and strength and she also found the relaxation at the end of the class to be a real tonic after the stresses of motherhood and shift work. 
On return to the UK in the late 1990’s, Lesley embarked on a Clinical Aromatherapy Diploma training, quickly followed by training as a yoga teacher, later Yoga Therapist and more recently becoming a Menopause Yoga accredited teacher. 
Lesley continued to work as a nurse whilst offering therapies and classes, and continued training in other skills to support her work.
She now works full-time as a therapist and teacher, with her main interests being in Menopause-related therapies, and stress management.
When asked, Lesley feel most proud of her ability to make yoga and all its’ benefits accessible to all ages, sizes, and abilities. 
Her work in classes, the workplace and Live or recorded video sessions is a blend of yoga, Mindfulness and stress management techniques that support her clients in being self-reliant in learning to manage their symptoms. 
Lesley is based in Hull in East Yorkshire, loves practising yoga, gardening, walking, and riding her Harley Davidson.
