Important: Medical & Health Information

This is not medical advice

The content on this website is provided for general information and educational purposes only. It is not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always seek guidance from your GP, specialist, or another qualified healthcare professional.

Nothing on this site should be taken as medical advice, and you should not rely on it to make decisions about your health.

🚨
In a medical emergency

Call 999 or go to your nearest accident and emergency department immediately.

The Menopause Network does not recommend or endorse any specific treatments, procedures, products, or specialists. Information relating to specialists listed on our site is provided for directory purposes only. We do not verify the ongoing credentials, qualifications, or practice standards of listed specialists, and inclusion in our directory does not constitute an endorsement.

Use of tools such as our Symptom Checker is intended to help you think through your symptoms and prepare for a conversation with a healthcare professional. It is not a diagnostic tool.

Section 05

Our Content

5.1 What we aim to provide

We work hard to ensure the information on our site is accurate, helpful, and up to date. Our content is reviewed with input from medical advisers and specialists. However, we cannot guarantee that everything on the site is complete, current, or free from error.

Menopause care and guidance evolves. Information that was accurate when published may become outdated. We encourage you to check publication dates and to consult a qualified professional before acting on anything you read here.

5.2 Blog and editorial content

Our blog features articles written by or in collaboration with medical professionals and other contributors. The views expressed are those of the individual authors and do not necessarily represent the position of The Menopause Network.

Contributor content is intended to inform and support, not to replace clinical guidance. Authors are identified on each article, and we encourage you to consider their credentials in context.

5.3 Third-party links

Our site may include links to external websites for your convenience. We do not control these sites and are not responsible for their content, accuracy, or privacy practices. The inclusion of a link does not imply our endorsement of the linked site.

We recommend reviewing the terms and privacy policies of any external site you visit.

Section 06

The Specialist Directory

Our Find a Specialist directory lists healthcare professionals who have registered with The Menopause Network. Listing in the directory does not constitute a recommendation, referral, or endorsement by us.

Specialist members are responsible for the accuracy of their own profiles. We do not independently verify professional credentials, insurance status, or the quality of care provided.

Before engaging a specialist found through our directory, we encourage you to:

  • Check their registration with the relevant professional body (such as the GMC, NMC, or GPhC)
  • Confirm they hold appropriate indemnity insurance
  • Satisfy yourself as to their suitability for your needs

Any arrangement you enter into with a specialist is directly between you and that specialist. The Menopause Network is not a party to that relationship and accepts no liability for the services they provide.

Section 07

The Shop

Our shop features products from third-party brands and retailers. Product listings, descriptions, and prices are provided by the relevant suppliers and are subject to change.

Where you click through to purchase a product, you are leaving our site and transacting directly with the supplier or retailer. Your purchase is governed by their terms and conditions. We are not responsible for orders, fulfilment, refunds, or any issues arising from purchases made through third-party sites.

We may receive a commission or referral fee when you purchase through links on our site. This does not affect the price you pay or our editorial independence.

Section 08

Intellectual Property

All content on this site, including text, images, graphics, logos, and the overall design, is owned by or licensed to The Menopause Network and is protected by UK and international copyright law.

You may read, download, and print content from the site for your own personal, non-commercial use. You must not:

  • Reproduce, distribute, or republish any content without our prior written permission
  • Use our content for commercial purposes
  • Modify or adapt our content without acknowledgement
  • Remove any copyright or proprietary notices

Our name, logo, and branding are our trade marks. You may not use them without our express written consent.

If you would like to reproduce or reference our content, please contact us at admin@themenopausenetwork.co.uk.

Section 09

User-Generated Content

If you submit content to our site (such as reviews, comments, or profile information), you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use, display, and distribute that content in connection with our services.

You confirm that any content you submit:

  • Is your own original work, or that you have the right to share it
  • Does not infringe any third party's intellectual property rights
  • Is accurate and not misleading
  • Does not contain anything unlawful, offensive, or in breach of these terms

We reserve the right to remove any user-submitted content at our discretion, without notice, where we consider it to be in breach of these terms or otherwise inappropriate.

Section 10

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, The Menopause Network excludes liability for:

  • Any loss or damage arising from your use of, or inability to use, our site or its content
  • Any reliance placed on information published on the site
  • Any interruption, suspension, or termination of access to the site
  • Any services provided by third parties found through our site, including specialists listed in our directory

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under English law.

If you are a consumer, you have statutory rights that these terms do not affect.

Section 11

Availability of the Site

We aim to keep the site available at all times, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted access. We may suspend, restrict, or withdraw access to the site (or parts of it) at any time for operational, security, or maintenance reasons.

We will try to give reasonable notice of planned interruptions where we can, but this is not always possible.

Section 12

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising in connection with these terms or your use of the site will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

If you are based in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also be able to bring proceedings in your local courts.
