Can HRT help with joint pain?

Joint Pain & Muscle Aches Asked 2 months ago 1 expert answer

My hands and knees ache most mornings. My GP mentioned joint pain can be linked to the menopause. Is HRT an option for this?

Joint aches are a recognised menopause symptom, and falling oestrogen levels can contribute. Gentle regular activity, strength work and checking your vitamin D status are sensible steps. Persistent or swollen joints should be assessed to rule out other causes.
