Why has my weight moved to my middle in my fifties?

Weight Gain Asked 1 month ago 1 expert answer

I have not changed how I eat, but the weight has settled around my middle. Is this the menopause and what can I do about it?

Weight often shifts towards the middle in midlife, partly because of hormone changes and partly because of age-related muscle loss. Building strength training into your week and prioritising protein and sleep can make a real difference. A GP review can rule out other causes, such as thyroid problems.
